The 'umbilican cord' = power cable to the house has been laid yesterday and today Telstra (telephone company) will come and use the same trench. This does not mean I do have power. AGL will instal the meter on 23rd of August and then I'm really (!) connected.
The same day the septic tank (like a big 'shit pot') has been delivered.
The plumber was busy and worked well.
(Although he managed to damage an electric wire at the house).

that looks very promising.
has it ever been evaluated why electricians, plumbers and all that kind of people always have to damage something? there is nearly no story of somebody having this kind of work done without any cut wires, holes in the wall where none should be, or some litres of water running to where it should never ever run. maybe this is a kind of conspiration?

Next conspiration: Aircondition. Es jammert sich halt besser auf Deutsch: Im Jaenner den Kostenvoranschlag fuer die ac unterschrieben. Mitsubishi. Is' mir eigentlich huebsch wurscht, die Marke. Hauptsache eine ac die kuehlt und waermt (reverse cycle). Alte Frau braucht einen gewissen Komfort. [Hat genug geschwitzt und v.a. gefroren in der z.Zt. gemieteten Huette]. Die Firma hat auch all die Schlaeuche und Kabel im Dach verlegt und nun ... gibt es 'mein' Mitsubishi nicht mehr. Die Typen haben nix zurueckgelegt. Haette am Mittwoch angerufen werden sollen wegen einer Alternative!!!! Guess what? Nobody called.

ach du sch... - bei den blödesten sachen muss man denken, aber das hat sich noch nicht überallhin durchgesprochen, fürchte ich.
