A Rottweiler in Australia
Sunday, 1. December 2013
Hello from down under!
2013-12-01 15:13
Mrs Kelef (https://gastgeberin.blogger.de/) and Mrs annemarie (http://kryptata.blogger.de/) asked about our well-being:

Everything is fine but I'm considering not to continue with this blog. The reason I started it was to force myself to write something in English regularly. Meanwhile I gave up any hope that I will improve. You can't teach an old dog new tricks. Literally. And there is no need to become better as well. No job, no communication with clients, no written statements necessary. So why should I put myself into the pain? Perhaps I will revive the blog in the future - we'll see. For now all the best from South Australia.

In need of some wherewithal
2013-09-18 12:36
The adjoining property in the west is on the market:

http://www.realestate.com.au/property-mixed+farming-sa-point+pass-7577215

I asked the real estate agent about the price - it is $ 1700.- per acre for the arable land (=75 acres) and $ 700.- for the rest (= 440 acres). Together $ 435 000.-

Anyone out there to make a donation? To secure the land for 'my' wombat?

in Australia. As permanent resident I'm (thank heavens) not eligible to vote - but the citizens have to. It's compulsory. Here a decision guidance for the poor voters:

While doing garden work the neighbour found a little creature. It was cold and didn't move a lot so he brought it to me. I put it in an emergency enclosure with standard temperature and humidity and during the night it came back to life. Like Speedy Gonzales it raged through the cage so we decided to let it go today.

It was a juveline Western Pygmy Possum (only 5g) - here some more information:

Float
2013-08-26 18:31
Advertisement last week:

"Refurbished Taylor's horse float. Double float, great to tow, very tidy. All wood replaced, rust cut out of roof, vinyl replaced, new tow/ brake hitch etc. 5 light truck tyres, bearings re greased. 12 months rego. Only selling due to upgrading to something bigger! Urgent sale $4000 or best offer. Can be viewed at two wells or Elizabeth south"

Because it was urgent the vendor accepted 25% less than asked for! I don't know whether Leila will fit in this trailer but I can remove the roof if necessary.
Leila, where are you? Everything is ready to go - only YOU are missing.

New bicycle
2013-08-17 19:05
3 years ago I purchased a cheap bike ($ 98.-) at BigW. What shall I say - it's now more or less trash. Although I tried to service it - Clare jumped more than once into it (and yes, it hurts to fall down).
I discovered an ad at www.gumtree.com.au: Cheetah Amalfi - ALLOY 3 SPEED COASTER COMFORT BIKE BRAND NEW;
Retail price $ 539.- The seller asked for $ 350.-. I offered $ 250.- I made the deal and now I have a brand new bike.

I hope it will last a little longer.

Horse rescue in NSW
2013-08-15 09:40
This morning I received an email from the organiser of the 'Large animal rescue' event that I attended a couple of months ago:

...ANTHONY HATCH "HATCHY" TEAM in ACTION! A great story and a horse that is lucky to be alive. Students who attended the Large Animal Rescue training course at Roseworthy in June might reminisce at the word "HAUL!" ...
